Target Acquisition and Missile Launch
At the end of the boost phase, the missile receiver locks onto the reflected signal. The missile then commences navigation in bearing while flying a pre-programmed climb/cruise trajectory in pitch.
Transition from Climb/Cruise to Terminal Homing
The missile remains locked to the reflected signal and continuously tracks the target. At the appropriate moment, the missile is commanded to exit the climb/cruise programme and navigate to the intercept point.
Interception
At interception, the radar proximity fuze detonates the warhead.
